This was a commission I did for a couple that is very dear and close to my heart. Casa de Corazon translates to “Home of the Heart”. They are some of the most caring, fun-loving and inviting souls you could possibly meet. It was such a joy and honor to re-create their home and their own love story to then be a center piece, to be enjoyed by them, their family and all who come to visit. The city scene up in the left hand corner is symbolic of where they met, had a few whimsical country dances and fell in love. The historic chapel is where they were married, which is just a couple blocks from their home. The central, blooming Palo Verde tree had to be taken out as it was in threat of falling down. Its’ spirit lives on in the painting. The owners have put a lot of love and creative work into Casa de Corazon. From the beautiful desert gardens to the etching on the front door, how fun for an artist to capture all of those sweet details. Also represented are their now grown children as birds and quail stopping in for a drink and, their faithful four-legged friends are always happy to greet.
