If you have ever swum in the ocean, you probably know that you can dive under the waves to calmer waters to avoid getting pummeled by the white water. Have you ever felt strong, negative emotions come over you like a wave? You can get swept up in these waves, and it contributes to our unhappiness. It not only hurts ourselves, but those around us. These emotional waves are patterns that we get caught in and can become like “habits”. As soon as we come up for air, another waves breaks on us, then another, then another. Eventually, we are exhausted and don’t have enough energy to move forward and make positive changes in our days and in our life and we feel stuck.
The next time you feel a strong emotion like anger, jealousy or sadness come over you, in that moment, see if you can “dive deep” into yourself and be the “watcher” from calmer waters. Watch your emotions and don’t let them consume you, don’t get caught in their powerful turbulence. This is an intense practice and you may run up against strong resistance. Our patterns and habits have their own energy and momentum behind them. This is why it is so important to practice. When we can begin to observe our emotions from a calm place, we begin to have insight about ourselves and our hardened patterns begin to dissolve. Take a deep breath, dive deep and deeper, still. In the calm water, everything becomes clear, like crystal.

I would love to purchase the Dive Deep print, signed and numbered. How much would that be? Love your work! Diane
Hi Erica, Jerry Knight here. (6 day trip back in July with my wife Holly) – I want to purchase as a gift for Holly the 16X16 size of the Dive Deep numbered prints. Your website doesn’t seem to be accepting orders – is there another way I can purchase this print?
Miss you guys – hope your Mom is fully recovered.
