You can find these 1000 year old handprints up in Deer Creek narrows. But, unless you are with a guide, or really know where to look, you can easily walk right by them without even noticing! I have heard that there are well over a hundred of these elusive autographs of the Ancient Ones in just Deer Creek alone. They seem to become less or more visible depending on the light, time of day and from what angle you are looking. Other handprints are in these seemingly impossible places to reach. How the heck did they do that? When I first started working in the Canyon, another guide showed me a handprint that was on the underside of an overhang.
